Terms of Sale
Last updated 9 September 2026
These are the terms you agree to when you order from Lêlê's Sweets. They're written to be read, not to be got around — if anything here isn't clear, ask before you order.
Who you're buying from
Lêlê's Sweets, a home-based bakery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Reach us at lelesweets.ca@gmail.com or on WhatsApp.
Everything is made to order
Nothing is made in advance. When you place an order we buy the ingredients and make your box by hand for the date you chose. That is why we need notice, and it's the reason the cancellation terms below are what they are.
Standard orders need at least two days. Large and custom orders need more, depending on size — the form tells you the earliest date available as you build the order.
Prices and tax
- All prices are in Canadian dollars.
- We are a small supplier under the Canadian Excise Tax Act and are not registered for GST/HST, so no sales tax is added to your order.
- The total you see at checkout, including any delivery fee, is the final amount — there is nothing added afterwards.
- We can change prices at any time, but never after you have placed an order.
Paying
You can pay by card, or reserve your order with an e-transfer.
- Card. Handled by Stripe. Your order is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through.
- e-Transfer. Your order is reserved once we receive it. Until then the date isn't held.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Before we start making your order — normally up to 48 hours before your date — write to us and we'll change the date, the flavours or the message wherever we can.
Once we've started, the ingredients are already committed and the order can't be cancelled or refunded. An e-transfer deposit is not refundable for the same reason.
If we can't fulfil your order — illness, weather, anything on our side — you get a full refund, including the delivery fee. We'll tell you as soon as we know.
If something arrives wrong or damaged, tell us within 24 hours with a photo and we'll put it right: a replacement or a refund, whichever suits you.
Because these are fresh handmade food items, they can't be returned once delivered. That is standard for food and doesn't affect the rights above.
Pickup and delivery
- Pickup is free, near Osgoode Station. We'll confirm the exact spot and time with you.
- Delivery across Toronto costs between $10.00 and $25.00, worked out from the distance to your address. Beyond about 20 km we'll need to arrange it with you directly.
- We deliver to the address you give us. Please make sure someone can receive the box — brigadeiros should not be left in a hallway or in the sun.
- If nobody is there and we cannot reach you, we will bring the order back and you will need to collect it. We cannot remake it for free in that case.
Allergens
Every flavour lists what it contains, both when you choose flavours and on the How it works page.
Everything is made by hand in one kitchen that also handles milk, wheat, soy, tree nuts and peanuts, so no box can be guaranteed free from traces. If you or the person receiving the gift has a severe allergy, please talk to us before ordering rather than relying on the list alone.
Handmade means slightly different every time
Each brigadeiro is rolled by hand, so size, finish and colour vary a little between boxes and won't match the photographs exactly. That's the nature of the product, not a defect.
Custom orders and quotes
- Custom orders start at 10 boxes.
- A quote is an estimate until we confirm it. We may adjust it for size, flavours, packaging or delivery, and we will tell you why.
- Quotes expire on the date shown on them. After that the price may change.
- A custom order is confirmed only once payment or a deposit has been received.
Discount codes
Codes can't be combined, have no cash value, and can be withdrawn at any time. Each has its own expiry and usage limit. A code applied to a cancelled order becomes available again.
Gift messages
We write your message on the card as you type it, so please check the spelling. We won't write anything abusive, hateful or illegal, and we'll contact you and refund the order if you ask us to.
What we're responsible for
We're responsible for making your order properly and getting it to you as agreed. If we get it wrong, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Nothing here limits any right you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot be waived.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and any dispute goes to the courts of Ontario.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it.
